As I mentioned in my last post, the snow is back! While pretty much everything we had before melted (or froze into a solid sheet of ice), we have about 10 inches back on the ground, and that means it's time for us to break out the snowshoes! With us having a three day weekend, we went three times in the last three days. It feels great to be back outside and getting some (badly needed!) exercise.
After our home inspection on Saturday we headed up to Flattop to hike around powerline pass.
Ripley loves being in the snow!
Andy is displaying masterful technique. We quickly discovered that ski poles were ESSENTIAL. We love our $25 play it again sports finds!
Perfect day - snowing lightly, no wind.
Ripley loves to shove his head into the snow and snort around. We recently discovered the goal is usually to find hidden moose poop to eat. Delicious.
I love walking around and seeing the city peek through the trees.
After Ripley spends an hour or so running around in snow up to his armpits, he's usually out for the rest of the day, which is awesome.
I'm sad I didn't have the camera with us this morning. The sunrise on the mountains was incredible. Also, because we decided to hike UP the mountain today, which was extra difficult, if we'd had the camera there would have been photographic evidence of me sliding back down the mountain on my butt! A sled might have been better...
Hope you all had a great weekend!
