I've literally tried three times to write this post and have been interrupted by baby meltdowns at nearly every turn, but I'm committed to making it work this time!
Olive is four weeks old today and is spending a lot more of her time being alert and soaking in her surroundings.
She has spent some time in her crib checking out her room (she sleeps with us at night in our room in her pack and play...and occasionally on top of me in bed when we have a rough night, which has unfortunately been the norm lately.)
She's also spent some time hanging out on the floor and checking out her toys.
Can you see how red her hair is now?
She also spends time hanging out with Papa on the couch and lounging in her boppy, which is probably not an approved use for the boppy. Please don't call child services on us...
Sometimes we have meltdowns...
This one may or may not have been caused by Ripley rolling Again, please don't call child services. |
Andy's parents came up for a visit and have enjoyed spending time with their grandbaby!
Excuse me. Grandbabies. Ripley has really enjoyed this visit, too!
And, just like that, I hear her calling for the dinner bell. I'll leave you with some of the many faces of Olive:
Side-eye.
Focused!
Silly.
Happy! I love baby smiles!
Cross-eyed.
Sleepy.
I love lamp.
Crazy eyes!
I don't know what to call this one, but it looks like she's about to make an obscene hand gesture.
...and finally, her "immediately preceding meltdown" face.
Can't believe she's almost a month old. Where does the time go?!
" . . . on endlessly" is where the time goes! Love the pix! Especially the "side-eye," which is what both our kids used when they wanted to totally creep us out and make us think they'd come from Area 51!
