That's right! To quote one of my favorite movies, Baby Mama (which Ripley got me for Christmas this year):
"Holy Shit, there's a baby in there!"
This week is the final week of my first trimester. So far, I have been blessed with wonderful pregnancy genetics (THANKS MOM!): I haven't felt too sick, and I've only gained about two pounds so far. I have had some of the typical early pregnancy symptoms like fatigue and weird food aversions/cravings (Red meat = bad. Sugar = good), but really, there's nothing much to complain about. I count myself as very lucky!
The picture from up above was taken on Friday when we went in for a routine scan for certain chromosomal defects (Down Syndrome, Trisomy 18, etc.). The doctor said everything looks to be in good order and because we have no family history of those types of issues, we are likely at very low risk for problems. I can't say it enough, but we feel extremely lucky that everything seems to be going like clockwork so far.
I'll probably write more about our great Christmas later this week, but for now, I'll leave you with more pictures from Friday's appointment.
Merry Christmas from the Naylors!!
SUCH a miracle. Thank you for sharing these; I am so happy for you!
